Super Love, Dear Boo
It’s not about the beginning
Neither of us saw that coming
It isn’t about the end
Here’s hoping we never get
there
It is the experience
All of it
That keeps striking the chords
of a beating heart
It could be your eyes
When it gazes into space
Or your long strides
Tall legs walking
Or the contents and sounds
I love you talking
It’s not about the flowers
If the government isn’t
planting them
They are only in books in my
town
So I’m hoping your constant
laughter
Is repeated in all your
chapters
Because I’m here to read your
book
And live lives found in its
words
So that when you bask in
glories
I am a part of the story
The one to hug
Standing beside
The one to turn on, o’ yes
we’ll fight
And when your dreams make you
kick out at night
I’ll be your victim
And it might be payback
For similar deeds done past
And if reading this you think
this, a play
Carry on playing
But I’ll be there holding your
hand
Bringing forth blessings, new
members of the cast
It’s been said, if you want
smiles to last long
Don’t make anger share its
bunk
And laughter might be a twin
to happiness
But a smile is the mother of
joy
Remember as well all is fair
in love
And the wars love bring,
require them too
Super love, dear boo…
